Dear Circlers, dear friends!

C:\Users\ardoamt.ARDO\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\2NXB6HTL\styret_snokrystaller_1500[1].jpgAnother year is coming to an end, and before we start a fresh new year it’s time to go down memory lane.

2009 - What a year. Fiesta @50, a wonderful conference where around 500 circlers gathered to see what Ladies Circle International can do together, and we had a really great time! A great thanks to LC India for making this such a special event for all of us who traveled there.

The new LCI board has three new members/ boardies and a fresh web-lady. I believe we can say we are a good team, which I am really proud to be a part of!

LCI-board 2009-2010:
Johanna, Malin, Nicole, Seetha, Kjesti and Anne-Mette

In November we all met for BM2 in Sandvika, Norway. It was really good to have some time together face to face, as we use to sit in front of our computers answering emails, looking at agendas for MTM’s, planning the spring, all in the name of friendship and service. I know I can speak on behalf of us all when I say that we are having a good time.

Memories; finalizing Saris, opening toilet blocks and meeting the girls (and boys) who will benefit of the work ladies all over the world have contributed to. It makes me PROUD to be a circler, and I am PROUD to see that circlers now are working to help other children through our new service project ECPAT.  The money we raise will help lots of children, and I have to say that I am really proud of my LC country Norway. They have already bought more than 1300 pins, and our tablers in Norway have started buying pins and are already up to 120. There are many other ways to raise money for ECPAT, but by wearing the pin you will experience that people ask you what it is for, and you can tell and sell them a pin. Trust me: It works. Let that be your Christmas present to ECPAT, buy a pin. I know that there are many of you who have not got your snowflake pin! Just contact me, and we will get them to you!

You’ll never walk alone. This is true. We feel it every day.  Thank you all for the support we in the LCI board have received. Thank you all for taking care of each other. This autumn we have lost some of our circlers to cancer and violence. Nothing will bring our sisters back, but we can comfort each other, walk together when we are feeling miserable, and smile together in the memory of the good times we had with them. Walk together with your circlers in good and bad days, it makes our lives easier, as we all know it can be pretty tough from time to time.

The snow crystal is unique; just like each circler, each circle, area, country, region and finally our LCI world. Sparkle like the snowflake!

Please buy and wear the snowflake pin! It is an easy way to support our ISP and a great way to make people interested!

Dear Circlers, dear friends! – continued…

We are happy to have reestablished contact with our circlers in Poland where we felt contact was lost. The focus on existing members is our priority number 1 and will be that for the rest of the year. We are hoping to be able to not close down LC Switzerland and if you know any potential circler there please contact the LCI board.

In Belgium a conference committee is it’s outmost to make a great conference for us all in August. Find out more by visiting: www.lci2010.org

Thank you all who have hosted us during the year that have passed. Thank you all for gifts we have received through the year. Thank you for sending greetings for our meetings and other occasions. Thank you for invitations we have received. It makes us feel very special and that you walk together with us. All these things together make all the work worthwhile.

I can give you one promise on behalf of the LCI board, we will continue to work hard for you and hope you feel that you’ll never walk alone.

On behalf of the LCI board, Johanna, Malin, Nicole, Anne-Mette, Seetha and myself I wish you happy holydays and a bright and sparkling new year, just like our snowflakes are.

International Service Project 2009-2011

ECPAT INTERNATIONAL &THE GLOBAL YOUTH PARTNERSHIP PROJECT

ECPAT Internationals vision is that all children have the right to live free from sexual exploitation; this includes child prostitution, child pornography, child sex tourism and trafficking for sexual purposes. The commercial sexual exploitation of children is estimated to be the third most lucrative business in the world after weapons and drugs (UNODC, 2009).

Our goal

Together with all the Ladies Circle clubs over the world, we want to raise more than 200 000 EURO for the International Service Project.

How much have we raised?

Ladies Circle International have raised 1467 EURO =0,1 EURO per member so far!

In total we have 8763 Euro in the account for the international service project (7296 EURO was in the account when the project started, the same amount has to be left in the account when we close it 2011). This means that we will transfer 8763 EURO to ECPAT before Christmas.

We have 18 months to reach our goal of 20 EUROS per member!

Each month a newsletter will be create and sent out to all Circlers
Or read more on:

Dearest Circlers

Thank you for the invitation from President Kjersti to extend a message of peace and goodwill to every single one of you over this festive period on behalf of the Round Table International Board and our member Associations.

If you are fortunate enough to take some time out over this festive season, enjoy every minute with your family and loved ones – as in Round Table, they        are the backbone of your Circling activities and deserve to be spoiled as we slow down a bit and reflect on the year that was. Many of us spend so much time during the year with work and Circling, and then some more Circling, that we often neglect our loved ones, so make an effort to pay them back with some quality family time.

Spare a thought for loved ones we might have lost during this year, by celebrating the great memories we have of them, and also spare a thought for many out there that might not be in a position to celebrate the end of year with great food, drink and company.

The RTI Board are looking forward to 2010, and the launch of a joint publicity campaign in partnership with Ladies Circle International, where we hope to send joint banners around the world via our members, to create awareness for both our organisations and to cement our commitment to each other - more news on this will follow via you board.

For now, we wish you a great holiday season and

much prosperity and happiness in 2010!

Re-charter LC70 Oslo

Re-charter LC70 Oslo, 22 November 2009

Long time since LC Norway had chartered new circles but this year they have managed to re-open two closed ones. The same weekend as LCI Board meeting 2 LC 70 Oslo had scheduled their re-charter.

It was awesome! 100 participants from Norway and Sweden plus IPP Seetha from India made this an unforgettable night.

The ladies had booked the Kon Tiki museum as venue for the party and the surroundings was great. We first started with a guided tour, followed by the official charter ceremony.

10 new ladies welcomed to Ladies Circle and they had made a good program for us this evening.

Greetings, presents, good food and wine. Good friends, loads of fun until the late hours of night.

Some of the participants (tablers, ex-tablers, circlers and ex‑circlers) left the party very late, and got themselves a Hummer Limo, which they drove through Oslo city in! We have only heard rumors!

All participants felt quite sure that these ladies are not going to close down LC 70 again. They had made a great evening for us, and they were proud and fun circlers, just like we like them!

Board Meeting #2

Finally time to go to the Board meeting! Since the LCI Conference in August we had sent lots of emails and I was really looking forward to a meeting in real life.

Wednesday evening we all met at the home of Berit Richardsen, a past national president of LC Norway. Once a Circler - always a Circler, and Berit and her husband Morten opened their house to us and home hosted us the whole weekend.

The weekend was exactly as I expected it to be, “hard work and lot’s of fun”. First, two full day meetings where President Kjersti and IPP Seetha had a tough job, getting us new boardies on board, but also time for circling, with the re-charter of LC70 Oslo as the perfect finale with almost hundred guests.
