A raining day me and my husband sat us in our car for the 400 kilometres drive to Holstebro. When we get there in the afternoon we have something to eat and then we go to the registration. We were warmed welcomed. After checking in to the house that we were living with three other Swedish people, change clothes and we where ready for the Home parties. BUT…….

Vikings at AGM!

During my LC-years, I have been to 6 Swedish AGM, 4 Danish and 2 Norwegian AGM´s, but not until now I have been able to go to Finland.

We arrived at Vaasa during Thursday evening and just checked in to the hotel and then off to the tour “The Dark Side of Vaasa” where we meet ghosts and went to places that had hosted murderers. Of course, all in the spirit of Salmiakki.

Internet is a nice thing, but sometimes things get lost in cyberspace. Unfortunate it happend to this report.

Botswana for the weekend – mad or just a circler!!
Listening to the Presentation about Botswana at the International contact meeting in India gave me
goosebumps!! Finding out we were the Godmother to Botswana made me even more determined
to go and support them whilst organising a special event for LCI.

Five circlers from GB&I each received a Travel Grant to attend LCI Bangalore.
It was agreed by our National President (Lynda Wieland) that we provide a joint
report to the LCI Board, with each circler reporting on a certain aspect of the LCI
Conference. By doing this we hope to give you a more in depth look at each part of
conference.

Belgium was full of that ‘Golden Touch’ of circling, in November – not to mention a dash of colour and musical flair. We all gathered to wish Ladies Circle Belgium many congratulations on achieving their 40 years of friendship and service.

The trip to LCI meeting started for me already on Wednesday, when I travelled to Kerava together with area 4 chairman. Area 1 chairman was kindly accommodating us in her home for the night.

My journey started on Wednesday evening by car to Helsinki. On Thursday early morning we, Finnish national board members(presidents went earlier)met on airport. Atmosphere was tense and expecting; we are going to Aberdeen – the land of men with kilts! After cheerful journey(maybe after some wine glasses as well…)we landed to sunny Aberdeen. Where is the rain and darkness? Luckily all ladies got their suitcases. We Finns dressed something blue-something white-something Marimekko Unikko. After arriving safely in Aberdeen we were taken to our hotels. There I met the lady I was to share my room with – Myriam from Marokko. We liked each other instantly. We made our way to the Conciller Dinner together. On the bus towards Turiff I at last met my Austrian delegation Doris and Gaby.
