LC-40 Hammerfest is back in business in Norway - Welcome!

 

The weekend around the 12th of September I had the privilege to travel to the very north of Norway to join the re-charter of LC 40 Hammerfest. Norway is a very small country when it comes to population, but when it comes to distance it is very long. My journey took 8 hours.(Including some waiting at different airports…)

The weekend 18-20th september 2009 Ladies Circle 64 Bremen Nort was chartered. They had made a great, fun, and cool program for all guest attending. Throughout the weekend more than 100 guests, circlers and tablers celebrated this new circle!

LC 64 Bremen North have got alot of young enthusiastic circlers, and LC Germany's youngest member, Birthe Gromotka from the new circle, age 23 was my hostess this weekend! It is inspiring to see that they manage to get ladies of that age interested in Ladies Circle.

 

The first weekend in May Ladies Circle 121 Akka was chartered. I managed to take som time off work and drove from Bergen in Norway, to Oslo and from there all south in Sweden. I knew Camilla Näsmann, past president from Sweden from earlier and was homehosted by her and her husband Stefan. I drove like a mad woman in order to get there on time, and it was just a little bit further than I expected. Getting there we headed straight for the charterparty, and it was held in two private homes of two of the new circlers, Stina and Katarina!

On the 16th of may 2009 we had the Charter of a new LC in Belgium. LC44 ATH is born ! The girls of Ath did a wonderful job, the charter was warm-hearted and there was a lot of people present ! The official ceremony at the townhouse of Ath was very well organised, in the presence of Round Table, 41 club, 51 club ... and our neighbours LC France ! In the evening we had a lovely gala in a magnificent orangerie of the Chateau of Beloeuil ! Amazing !!

We are happy to announce that we have charted a new club in Iceland Ladies Circle 11. Ladies Circle 11 Iceland is situated on a small island of the south coast of Iceland, the inhabitants are 4100. A group of ladies have been meeting informally for the past two years and have at this time become a part of the Ladies Circle world and charter in LC Iceland.

To travel within Ladies Circle is something everyone should try! This time we chose Italy. In the middle of february our norwegian/italian National Secretary Gianna should finally experience a travel with Norwegian circle friends to an event of LC Italy. Everyone looked forward to this trip!

LC Belgium : Charter LC 42 Marche en Famenne, the 10th of November 2008. LC Belgium was very proud to charter this new club !

The Moroccan Ladies Circle has organized the chartering of its third circle in Rabat, after those held in Casablanca in 2004 (LCC1) and later in Rabat in 2005 (LCR2). The chartering of this third circle, named LCR3, was held between December 6th and 9th, 2007.

Back in April 2007 I received an email in my In Box – wow nothing new really – but yes this was different. It was a personal invitation to the Charter of LC 66 Weiden, Germany and came from two special people – Wilfried Forster and Maya Gaderer-Forster who I have met on many travels when accompanying my husband on Table trips.

The charter of LC55 Marseille, will be organised with the french National Comitee on Saturday 10th November. Marseille is on the french riviera, a very nice place.. Please come and see by yourself !!!

I had reaaly great time in Morocco for the charter of LC2 Rabat. Please have a look to my report and you will understand why ! A big thanks to Fatiha, Fatema, Hayat and of course to all the circlers from Morocco

Dear Ladies, I am happy to inform you that the 2nd club in Morocco will be charter in 26th November 2005. As you could see in these pictures all of them are very happy and plenty of life with her godmother LC1 Casablanca !!! Nkani Yawama, Life can be good... in Rabat !

I had the great pleasure of attending the charter of LC1 Luxembourg from march 31th. to april 3rd.

LC 1 Luxembourg is chartered on 2nd April 2005 Welcome to the club!

After Jerusalem we went in the desert to visit an old city, Massada, for having a lunch under a bedouin tent and also for some of us swimming in the dead sea... and before leaving this great Holy Land we went in Haifa in the north of the country. We had also an unforgettable Party in a big place !

Before the multi charter we visited different circle : LC15, LC13 Cesaria but also we visited an historical town : Jerusalem !

On 13rd February we went by bus in Jerusalem, in President House for attending the multi charter... 6 new club in LCIsrael. A very emotional and warmth moment... Please, have a look

The 1st Ladies Circle Athens was established on the 6th November 2004 with Cyprus as the Godmother.

I travelled from Bangalore to Katmandu on the 18th of November and landed there in the evening. Meera Agarwal- Chairman Katamandu LC-1 was there at the airport and it felt as if it was a replay of my earlier visits in 2000 during the extension of the 1st circle.

MOROCCO CHARTER & THE HEAVEN ON EARTH NEWS I do not know how to start as everything is coming to my mind at the same time, so I give you day by day and you can follow being there!!

On Saturday, it is the D-Day, the chartering day of LC1 Casablanca... but before we went in the old city we called "medina" and also we visited the Hassan II Mosque

Because I took more tha 500 pictures, I need two reports for giving to you the great week we had in Morocco. I was so marvellous, so warmth... so, so... So have a look at my pictures, and you will understand what I mean !! This first report is about the visit we made, the fun we had before Saturday, the special day !

Some circlers from France went in Island of la Réunion for the Chartering of LC47 Saint Pierre and the 10 years old of LC32 Saint Denis. We had a marvellous week with a lot of activities : Drinking cocktail on the beach or near the swimming pool, visiting Rhum factories, discovering the landscape of this Island, having a trip on a boat during the sunrise with dolphin, going to different parties every night.... But it was a really very nice Island and very nice cirlcres too ! If you will visite them, you will understand what I mean !

On November 7th, LCI had the pleasure of adding one more member country, LC Greece, to our family. The Olympic Charter, as it was very nicely titled, took place in Athens. It was a joint event, where RT2, RT3, and LC 1, Athens were chartered. The program had started on Thursday, but I was not able to join till Friday afternoon. On my arrival to the hotel, I met with my sisters from Estonia, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, GB&I, Luxemburg, Norway, Cyprus and of course some of the Greek newcomers and my dear, sweet LCI secretary Veerle. Short after we were driven to a club, where tablers and circlers had a party time. Oh!! And what a pleasant surprise!!! Vee showed us that beside a talented secretary, mom, wife and many other things, she has excellent skills in singing and dancing …. Greek!!!!!! The next morning was the Big Day. In a room, at the hotel top floor, opposite the Acropolis, eleven Greek ladies became officially our new members. It was a simple, humble ceremony, with lots of love and friendship in the air and emotional moments. Personally, I felt my heart pounding, as this very morning a long lasting dream was coming to be true. For this of course, we thank RT Cyprus, RT Greece and most, LC Cyprus for their admirable efforts. Towards the end of the ceremony, it was a moving time when all the guests had a little something to give and a lovely something to say to the newcomers of LC Greece. Cordial ,warm welcome wishes were received by the Greek ladies who stood happy and proud to bear the LCI pin and to be circlers. During lunch, we cheered ourselves by rehearsing our song ‘ a man in pink, black..’ and decided to stun the guests by performing it at the gala dinner. Then was the VIP reception, where tablers and circlers mingled amongst them exchanging words of friendship, support and love. Mr Karamanlis, house of Parliament, and mrs Cosma, Vice mayor of Kifissia honored us with their presence and addressed speeches of admire and congrads for the wonderful job our clubs are doing. To top the event, was the gala dinner. After a few thank you words from RTG, LCG, LCC,RTI and myself, on behalf of LCI, all the cirlers stood up and sang …our song… oh our song really had the room on their feet. As my sweet Vee says, it’s been quite a long time since we heard manly whistles, and cheers. The performance from all the circlers was …very professional!!!! Then, we all showed our skills on the dance floor. We knew that this wonderful event was coming to an end so we tried to live up to its last minute. Just before dropping, at about 2:30am we said the sad goodbye. It always gives great pleasure to welcome new members to our family of LC. A charter of a new country is a treasured event as we extend our friendship to more ladies. So in which ever way we enjoy it and we celebrate. Thank you to all the countries who participated and the rest for sending “ good luck” wishes to LCG.
