"Happy to be Ladies" was my motto when I was National President of Ladies' Circle Italy. And this happiness I've always enjoyed during my circling life, and it reigned over me on the occasion of the AGM in Cesena.

First of all, I was happy to embrace again the Italian Ladies. I got the good feeling of one that was surrounded with deep affection at home after a long absence.

The welcome party was really enjoyable: we exchanged ideas regarding our experiences at work, in the family and in Ladies' Circle.

We took a lot of photos. The Italian food and wine were excellent: I still feel the delicious taste of the pasta in my mouth!

The Mayor of Cesena has honoured us with his precious presence.

Then I was enormously happy to get acquaintance with the Ladies of Ancona, who had just celebrated their Charter in April. I still remember the enthusiasm and the sweetness in the smile and in the eyes of the President of Ancona!

Moreover I was filled with emotion when the girls of Rome submitted the request to set up a Ladies' Circle in Rome. We've been waiting for this moment for such a long time! Their Charter will probably take place in February 2011.

The incoming President, Marianna Lazzaro, was all moved for the love the Ladies of Taranto have showered on her. She was the first National President from the South of Italy. No doubt, she will bring to Ladies' Circle Italy the warmth, the vitality, and the enthusiasm typical of that part of Italy I've treasured so much!

Then my happiness reached its peak for the presence of Seetha Venkatesh. Thanks to Ladies' Circle, I've come to know that Indian girl who possesses both inward and outward beauty. The fact that Seetha was back to Italy the second time in three years has overwhelmed us with delight: we feel honored because we are sure that for her, Italy is wonderful, the Italian people are wonderful and so are the Italian Ladies. Thank you again, Seetha.

What's more? The guided visit to the Malatestiana Library has rendered the AGM Cesena perfect: founded by the half of the fifteenth century, it was the first municipal library in Italy and in Europe, it was the unique example of the classical monastic library perfectly conserved to the present day. I still have in mind splendid books of anthems with meaningful designs in brilliant and harmonious colours. They are really great works of art.

After my outpouring of happiness I think I should say "Thank you" to the outgoing Board for all the work they had been carrying out to enrich the history of Ladies' Circle Italy. And finally I wholeheartedly wish the incoming Board a social year rich of friendship and of the willingness to embellish our world with smiles.

Ly thi Thanh Thao

Past President Ladies' Circle Italy
