December, what a special time....
Its the time to go down memory lane, to see what the year has given us. As we circlers are unique, because we all look at the world with completely different eyes, and listen to the words spoken with our ears, we all get someting different and special out of our circle lives!
I would like to share some memories with you from 2009 in this short article.

Last january the Mid Term Meetings were held in Luxembourg, Malta, Lithuania and in South Africa.
I had the pleasure to bring my husband along to Luxembourg, to give him an impression of what this international circling was all about. He had a great time, and so did all the circlers who came here.
The MTMs are like small international conferences. With less people itis easier to get in contact with other ladies, and to know more about other peoples ways of life, just as the intention of Ladies Circle International is!.

Traveling with Ladies Circle is fun, and I use to say that its the best travel agency in the world. I had just been of to Luxembourg the week before heading of to Lithuania, and I should have known, traveling in winter with loads of sneezing poeple is not safe.
I got really sick after returing home from Luxembourg. Tuesday one of the ladies in Lithuania called me, asking me what airline company I was traveling with,, LAL I answered, and she then told me they had gone in, bancrupt after the financial crisis...
Well, what do we do then? get some help, and because we want to save LC money for travel we buy the cheapest we can find via internet. I managed to get in contact with the people behind the machines, and Maria( her name was, swedish) said, I will see if we can get you a refund. "NO!" I do not want to have a refund. I have to be in Vilnius by thursday evening, no later than friday morning 09.am.
She called me back saying KLM will offer you a refund.. NO NO NO I do not want a refund.. Okay she eventualy said, let see... So I got a new flight from Bergen, Via Amsterdam, Prague and then to Lithuania. As mentioned I had become sick and the flue was horrible, not possible to breath through my nose, coughing.. and on the flights to Prague and Lithuania I thought my ears were exploding. Thinking back, I am glad this was before the svine flue, as they would never have put me on the plane. BUT
IT was worth it. WE had a ball!
Hosting my first boardmeeting
This was march and time to host my first boardmeeting.
It was fun to have all the ladies here, and we also got visitors from the Norwagian board and Tracey took the trip from ENgland. It was great.
Of course things does not go according to plans, and the same was for this meeting. Seetha was delayed because her passport was at some embassy waiting for a Visa, so she and Kirsten came thursday at daytime. We hade to work very quick and effective because with more than 118 travel fund applications to handle,, well. you can imagine. Kathleen had made a great system so things went quicker than we expected there. Then it was finance, Kirsten had stepped in after Christina who resigned in january had som e cathing up. It is important that we get time to talk together at these meetings, we do spend time in front of our computers, and the personal contant means a lot to us!
Saturday, we were invited to my chairladys home for dinner. Nina, her kids Emma and Thomas and husband Atle had prepared a wonderful dinner for us all, and we had the pleasure to have the Norwegian President Hildegunn Skulstad with us too!
April in Germany
For my second year in a row I was invited to LC Germanys AGM. I was picked up by Werner, Silkes husband on the thursday, and arriving at Silkes home, the German board was busy planning theire AGM, and just finding some time for lunvh.
Borwsing through ourwebsite, and looking at photos it might seem as we are this great party organisation, but that is just the icing on the cake!
These hecti boardmeetings prior to the AGMs are common all over the world. The LCI board meeting prior to the big AGM in Bangalore was no different. We all want it to be perfect, we all want to show the circlers what we have been working for.
I belive we should say " good enough" earlier. And relax and enjoy more! Because it is good enough!
May, everywhere but home.....
Started in South of Sweden with the charter of LC 121 Akka. I have made a report form this charter earlier, but what was so special about it..
well. these girls from LC 121 Akka are now all over my Facebook, and frequently in touch. They are now the ladies who will host the LCI Conference in 2011 for us.. They are truly unique ladies.So was the charter too! Making food together, making the evening together, a great idea!
There are always memories from these events that are special, I had told my family that it was just a short drive down from Oslo, where my husband and youngest son was spending the weekend with some family. Well, a short trip is relative, and it is just pure luck I did not loose my drivers licence.. But good things happen for good girls!
Just few weeks later I met many of them at the Swedish AGM, and I then had the pleasure to sit comfortably in the back seat in a car with the Norwegian IRO.
