LCI Charity Project 2001-2003 -

Prevention and Care of Children with Protein Energy Malnutrition in Lusaka at the University Teaching hospital Ward Ao7 Paediatrics.
This project of LCI received an initial donation of GBP 5 000 in January 2002 and at the LCI conference in August 2002 another donation of GBP 15 000. LC Zambia reports on the progress of the project- * The mother’s shower rooms and toilets, have repaired the leaking roof, replaced the falling ceiling, replaced the PVC tiles with the ceramic ones, constructed the Sister-in-charge’s office, put up the Nurses’ Cubicles within the ward, repaired curtain rails and pelment, painted all the baby cots, refurbished the kitchen and tea room for the staff. * Several donations of Medical perishables, consumables, medicines and cleaning materials were done on 8th November, 2002. Our outstanding works before the end of year are to put up laundry lines and a slab outside the ward and complete the children’s bathroom.
