E    Everything all right?
L    Like to hear from you!
L    Love to see you soon!
O    Obviously, once you’ve logged in we are now friends so. . .

hello

and Welcome. I am Kathleen A Flynn a Circler from Ladies’ Circle Malta and the President of Ladies’ Circle International (LCI) 2007/2008. (Click here for my biography and introduction).
With open arms I welcome you to the LCI website. This is your mine of information as by browsing through this site it is here that you can find all you need to know about our fantastic organisation.

If you click here (link to History of LCI) you will learn about how Ladies’ Circle and Ladies’ Circle International started, about our International Motto and a brief on how we operate.
In August 2007 we had the 48th LCI AGM & Conference in Tallinn, Estonia the theme for the event was ‘Anybody Can Fly’ .  LC Estonia and the Conference Team Annika Sormus did a magnificent job so much so that I think we will be ‘Flying’ throughout the forthcoming year.  This is were I was installed as International President and where I launced my Logo, Motto and Targets for the year.  So what does 2007/2008 have in store for us?  My targets for the year are that

  • we will continue to strive to see the growth of Ladies’ Circles within existing member countries and to go further a field and seek pastures new, through living up to our National and International Mottos and make it known through the media
  • we will all keep up our sterling work towards our Local and National Charity Projects but also work towards the International Service Project 2007/2009
  • we will retain the ‘Side by Side’ co-operation with Round Table locally, nationally and internationally
  • we will make extra efforts to communicate amongst ourselves
  • most importantly we will endevour to travel to each others countries to delve more into the mysteries of our cultures
  • and we will try to collate ‘The Golden Years of LCI’
International Service Project
As a service organisation LCI are engaged in the management of community service projects, where resources are channelled to areas of need. Our projects cover the effects of natural disaster, man made (poverty and human displacement), problem areas and disasters. The last International Service Project 2005/2007 was being administered by LC Denmark on behalf of LCI and the aim was to build an orphanage in Nepal. In the end enough money was raised to also build an additional home for teenagers. The project name was: ‘Nepal Highlander Orphan Children Care Association’.
LC GB&I is the host country for the new International Service Project with LC India being the overseers in the country. The name of the project is:
Sanitation At Rural Indian Schools’
the SARIS project

The project entails providing sanitary facilities for the school girls of India. It costs on average € 730 to build one block of two toilets in a school. The aim is to build 100 toilets for Indian Schools. Due to lack of facilities girls are remaining at home not fulfilling a career or learning abilities. By providing these simple sanitary fittings it will give girls the chance to attend school. Growing up as a girl in India is hard enough but when we consider puberty and the fact that there are no sanitary facilities in schools we understand better the importance of this project. Assisting these girls to go through education will not only be providing them with a chance to improve their prospects but we will also be helping the India economy and a better future for Indian children. These Indian girls feel: 'I'm Not Yet a Girl, Not Yet a Woman'. Project Coordinator is LC GB&I Circler Christine Wright
(click here for more details about the project). LC Denmark have also offered to collect used stamps with proceeds from the sale of the said stamps to go to ‘The SARIS Project’. At a minimal cost for each of us we too can contribute towards this project. (click here for details of stamp collection).
Next LCI AGM 2008
This will be held in Aberdeen, Scotland between 28 – 31 August 2008. (click here for link to Conference details) There:

We’re going to Dance and maybe Sing,
Most Certainly though – we shall Swing
Whilst we all perform the Our Highland Fling!!!
Between 28 - 31 August 2008 – it will be THE thing!

I’m sure you’ve really enjoyed reading all this and have now acquired a thirst to learn more. If you are between the ages of 18 – 45 it’s just so easy just download the membership pamphlet NOW, complete it and send it to a Circle in your country or to a member of the LCI Board who will direct you accordingly. What are you waiting for to have fun, meet new people whilst helping others?

The Motto
2007/2008 will be referred to as the ‘C’ year. The idea behind this is for Circlers to:

Commute
Around our LCI world, whether to neighbouring countries or those further afield. Networking is great when experienced.

Con Calore
The Italian way of saying with Passion. The Flamenco dancer holds the LCI star representing all the Circlers in the world. Circlers and the Flamenco Dancer are so similar they twirl around life bravely, they rise and fall through circumstances in life but smoothen situations with their aura and intensity. They are both intimate, mysterious and out to break frontiers.
Colour
Colour is important in my life and I wanted to share this with everyone. I feel that every person is diverse and through this diversity comes out a colourful character. I would like each Circler to shed their colour (be it through their beauty, their assistance, their care, their concern, their friendship) among other Circlers, to people less fortunate and to the entire world. Colour is vibrant and this is what LC throughout the world should prove to be. Start to colour your life today because it does change your life in wonderfully positive ways and will rub off onto others too!

Purple and Light Blue,
Pink and Yellow, Green and Dark Blue,
Orange and Red, all there for you!

Dare to be yourself! Dare to be colourful! Dare to feel great!

Through the Brightness of Colour, the Electricity of the Flamenco Dancer and the Energy and Passion of every one it will be easy to achieve our motto this year which is:
circle the world with colour

Thank you for visiting our website, enjoy and we look forward to hearing from you.
