Dear Members, Dear Guests,
For newcomers and those who do not know about us, Ladies Circle is a women’s club, between ages of 18 and 45 years old. Its name is identified with Friendship and Charity on an international level. Ladies Circle has its roots in England since 1930. The association exists in 33 countries with 16000 members and its moto is “ Friendship and Service”.
Scrolling around our web page, you will find it pleasant, colorful and informative.
For the last few days, we have been receiving the news about the terrible tragedy in Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. The emails and descriptions we receive from local tablers and circles, just break our hearts. Besides, the pictures on TV, speak for themselves. Our feelings are mixed these days, as we hear good "news" for survivors and bad news for lost ones. All humanity has been devastated by this biblical catastrophe, and we try to do whatever we can to help.
The news of this catastrophe has stricken us all straight to our heads, minds and hearts. All over the world, our associations are joining hands to offer as much as possible. The immediate response of circlers, tablers, Wocoers is so moving and touching, it feels like a bit of consolation among this horror and grief.
We, the LCI board and members have started a fund raising campaign among us and friends and all collected will to be sent as LCI to Sri Lanka and India. If any of you want to contribute, please write to us.
from left to right:In the meanwhile, our minds and prayers are with E. Asia. At this time of sorrow, all our motos work out, " the more the merrier", "Building relationships" " all for one, one for all, all for love" " heal the world" .
Well, this is what we will do and will do it well, because we are circlers and tablers. And when you stand by each other, we SUCCEED...!!!!
Yours in Friendship,
ELENA CHARALAMBIDES
Ladies' Circle International President 2004-2005
